All CGHS Allopathic Wellness Centres are computerized and connected to a Central server through a web based software application developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC). The stock position of medicines in respective CGHS Wellness Centres can be viewed and monitored by the Director CGHS, Additional Director, Medical Stores Depot, CGHS and the respective Additional Directors of the CGHS zones in Delhi. CMO-in-charge of the respective CGHS Wellness Centres can also see and monitor the stock position and availability of respective medicines in the Wellness Centre. The Additional Directors and CMO in charge of Central Medical Stores of CGHS cities outside Delhi can view and monitor online, the stock position of medicines at the Wellness Centres in their respective cities.
Computerization has helped in maintaining data about the consumption and demand resulting in better management of inventory of medicines at the Wellness Centre level to ensure adequate availability of medicines for the beneficiaries. Indents are also placed online to authorized local chemists and suppliers of commonly indented branded medicines and life saving drugs.
