एनडीए से पहले यूपीए सरकार ने भी सैनिकों को पैरा मिलेट्री में शामिल करने के बारे में सोचा था
नई दिल्ली: सरकार के एक उच्च अधिकारी ने एनडीटीवी से बातचीत में कहा है कि भाजपा की अगुवाई वाली एनडीए सरकार, सेवानिवृत्त सैनिकों को पैरा मिलेट्री और पुलिस में शामिल करने की योजना बना रही है।


इस योजना के फलस्वरूप सैनिक 60 साल की उम्र तक काम कर पाएंगे और ओआरओपी के तहत बढ़ी हुई पेंशन की ज़रूरत नहीं पड़ेगी। बता दें कि ओआरओपी की मांग करने वाले पूर्व सैनिकों का कहना है कि 80 प्रतिशत सैनिक साठ साल से पहले ही रिटायर हो जाते हैं।



पिछले शनिवार ही सरकार ने ओआरओपी की घोषणा कर दी है और रक्षा मंत्री मनोहर पर्रिकर के मुताबिक इसमें लगने वाला खर्चा करीब 20 हज़ार करोड़ है।

Now, Central Govt staff seek OROP in 7th Pay Commission

 New Delhi, Sept 12:

The joint consultative machinery for all Central Government staff has demanded that one rank one pension be implemented for all current and future pensioners. The demand is to implement it in the Seventh Pay Commission.

The move comes shortly after the Government decided to implement OROP for defence personnel.

OROP already exists for the judges of the Supreme Court, High Court and CAG, the letter stated, written by Shiva Gopal Mishra, Secretary, joint consultative machinery, Central Government Employees.

One Rank One Pension Not a Heavy Burden, Says Manohar Parrikar

New Delhi:  Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar today said the expenditure for implementing One Rank One Pension (OROP) will be just 2.2 per cent more than the allocated budget for the Defence Ministry.

"A lot of people said OROP budget is going to be very heavy. I can tell you that total defence outlay was Rs. 3.29 lakh crore. So it only forms about 2.2 per cent additionally in defence outlay," said Mr Parrikar at a seminar organised by industrial chamber FICCI.

The Minister said the cost can be recovered by using "innovative methods" and removing middlemen.

Parliamentary panel recommends Health ministry undertake a study on Central Government Health Scheme

 NEW DELHI: A Parliamentary Panel today recommended the Health and Family Welfare Ministry to undertake a study on shortage of doctors in Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS).

"The Committee is constrained to note that out of sanctioned strength of 1620 General Duty Medical Officers and Specialists, as many as 282 posts are lying vacant and 240 have been filled on contract basis.

 "It is evident that even if UPSC makes selection of doctors, very few join CGHS. The Committee therefore recommends that the department undertake a thorough study to find out the reason behind this trend and take remedial action accordingly," it said.

Pension Revision from 01.01.2006: Benefit granted to Commissioned officers and Civilians not OR/JCO - Clarification

There have been mails floating around and queries raised that the benefit as granted to Commissioned Officers and Civilians on 24 Sept 2012 has now been applied from 01 Jan 2006 but similar benefit has not been extended to ranks other than Commissioned Officers.  Article giving the clarification on it by Major Navdeep on his blog is reproduced here:-

Though the instant post was not ideally required, but I feel compelled to throw light on a subject, which, since the last few days has led to a massive disinformation campaign fuelled by irresponsible chain-mails regarding pensionary benefits of ranks other than Commissioned Officers.

As was brought out in the last post on this blog [Click here for Officers& Click here for ORs/JCO], the Government has issued the sanction order implementing the Supreme Court decision on removal of a pensionary anomaly with effect from 01 Jan 2006, that is, the date of implementation of the 6th Central Pay Commission (6th CPC) recommendations. There have been mails floating around and queries raised that the benefit as granted to Commissioned Officers and Civilians on 24 Sept 2012 has now been applied from 01 Jan 2006 but similar benefit has not been extended to ranks other than Commissioned Officers. Some mails have been nauseatingly abusive towards the Government and some have raised needless irresponsible conspiracy theories.
